Identifying Your Oster Dies

All Oster Dies possess various markings so as to easily identify your dies and what sizes they cut. On the face, each set of dies is marked with an ordered number within the set, for example a set of Symbol Quad Dies will contain four pieces each bearing a number 1 through 4. That same set of dies would also have QUAD stamped into each piece so that you can identify the style of dies. Depending on the date of manufacture your set of dies will also contain some various factory codes which were used during the manufacturing process to track material progress and have no other significance. On the rear of the dies, opposite the teeth, each set of dies is marked with the material size it is made to cut, the threadform being cut and in the case of Bolt dies the number of threads per inch.
